so surgery went well. i actually still have both my ovaries.
it wasn't cancer and that's super awesome. i actually have endometriosis. so the 'mass' was an endometrial cyst or a "chocolate cyst" because it's full of old blood. there was actually a mass on each ovary and some benign cysts, so everything went.
we can still have a family and that makes me so happy. we'll probably start trying in about six months to a year. i have to go on birthcontrol to help my ovaries heal. by stopping ovulation, like the pill does, it gives my ovaries some down time to regenerate the tissues and everything.
this gives us time to get married.
my insurance company sucks ass, but at this point, i'm happy to be alive.
when i got to Sinai on Monday at 12, no one told me i had been waitlisted, so i sat for hours and hours before getting any information. everyone who was with me was very mad. i was frustrated because i was so dehydrated.
the residents who assisted on the surgery were very good and i've only had women doctors since this started. i really like that.
my incision is pretty big and i'm very sore, but i feel pretty darn good.
david has been here helping to take care of me, and my mom has been staying at night. my bffs came to visit yesterday.
i think i am going to eat some real food today.
