my mom and i were talking about stay at home moms last night. i think that she needs to talk to david when we eventually have kids. she was a stay at home mom until she finished college and at that point i was getting ready to graduate high school. it was the best. she was always around when we needed her. she was there when we were sick. she was there when we needed a chaperone for field trips. she was lunch room mom when we were little. we didn't have fancy expensive things, but we always had new clothes and a clean house.
child care costs are so ridiculously high and you don't know who you can trust anymore. i don't think anyone will care for my baby the way that i can. even our mothers will have done things differently than i would. i have friends who will still want to do things with me and i'll find other SAHMs. i'd rather be around to take care of the house and kidlets. i want to learn to make things and i'll do hair maybe two days a week or at home when i can. that's a huge reason why i want to build a station in the basement.
